One thing that looked to defy logic was that the fires burned from the top of the hills down to the valleys but I am guessing that the winds were strong and coming from the East. That would explain it but it was still causing me some cognitive dissonance.

My 0.2 cents' worth of observations on the LA developments:

The main characters seem to go out of their way to intensify and attract that rage. Clearly there is some sort of script behind this, and it all fits a bit too neatly. TPTB are seeking to dismantle woke, DEI, etc. in one fell swoop and replace it with a whole new agenda.
- Wheeling out Tom Hanks, Rihanna, and Paris Hilton is likewise serving that agenda, as always.
- I don't go in much for numerology - but reading about the "3,300" staff at the LA Fire Dept. and "more than 11,800 hectares" of land affected, practically in the same sentence, is quite reminiscent of the early days of covid ("Patient 33 speaks up...").
- One thing we can all agree on is that this monumental problem and the emotional reacion are a prelude to a draconian solution. The experts will tell us that "we can't go back to what it was" and that climate change, energy requirements, etc. etc. dictate a build-back-better system. Most likely a 15-minute city a.k.a. permanent lockdown where the city hall will place physical barriers at the end of your street and cameras everywhere, as per what they have already been installing in London and Oxford, UK.
- Whatever reprieve people may have expected in the wake of the US election, and other elections in Europe, in reality we continue heading towards a new world by 2030. And the moneyed classes are more than happy to raze today's world to the ground if that's what it takes.
No reprieve. Whatever solace people took in Trump getting re-installed seems to have evaporated as just more of "The System" as Musk increasingly seems radically strident, if not verging on all-out WEF status. I've experienced three kinds of people in regard child trafficking,1) those who are in on it and will do ANYTHING to remain hidden,2) those that are protecting others, like guards, 3) those that want to be helpful but don't know anything, totally in the dark. The whole network seems to follow the path of communist cells, only on a need to know basis.
So for me everything is filtered through that lense, whether it be Gaza, LA fires,any psyop. And I'm finding speaking about any of those things is truly dangerous at this stage, you have to be very selective in who you speak to about " those things", least you be considered crazy and someone puts in a welfare check on you or you are arrested for hate speech or just made to feel guilty about being such a conspiracy nut. You become totally invalid and vulnerable.
If you are a famous however, you can say anything, like Trump or Elon, your wealth or position protects you and gives others the illusion that they are protected as well. But for your average person stepping out of line can have severe consequences. As an example, the Colorado woman who worked on elections (clerk? ) and said there were anomalies in the 2020 elections. She was sentenced to nine (9!) years in jail for lieing! And I thought it was just her opinion, silly me. She was racked over the coals by news media, who didn't seem to know about the concept of freedom of speech and a public that was glad to see her put in jail. Some influencers came to her defense, but she's still in jail.
As far as people being woke more now, just a little maybe, but mainly I see complicity from most and their own personal comfort being the most important thing. Its all popcorn and entertainment for the masses, while the fires burn, Gaza continues to be an open air prison full of severe pain and suffering and children continue to be raped, tortured and killed.

His "core" has been irrevocably altered, subsumed forever by Big Pharma and a likely platoon of shrinks.
